Extra Checks Around the Event
The Amsterdam Dance Event ran from October 21 to 26 in the Dutch capital. With big crowds heading to and from the venues, police teamed up with the municipality's enforcement officers to keep a closer eye on the taxi sector. Some of the checks were easy to spot, while others were carried out by plainclothes officers at and around the ADE locations.

What the Inspections Found
The numbers paint a clear picture. Police caught 25 unlicensed taxi drivers, seized 16 taxis for further investigation and filed 351 official reports. Most of those reports came with a fine attached.

Officers said the problems were wide-ranging. In their words, some drivers did not properly keep track of their driving and rest times, others were behind the wheel of vehicles with technical defects, and some simply ignored basic traffic rules. The police shared the results in a post on Instagram.
