Massive fire in building on an industrial estate in Middenbeemster North Holland Early this morning a large fire broke out at a dairy farm on the Zuiderweg in Middenbeemster. The fire, reported just before 2:00 AM, is generating thick smoke that has spread over the A7 highway and some nearby homes. The firefighters anticipate being on the scene for the rest of the morning.

Officials have twice issued NL alerts in which residents were warned to shut windows and doors because of the heavy smoke and smell. The odour has been reported across a large area and may have spread to parts of Amsterdam, according to the fire brigade.
Old Distribution Center Burns
The supermarket chain Plus was using the building for its distribution centre on Insulindeweg.
The cause of the fire is not known. A police drone team has been sent ahead to give an aerial view of the fire scene.
Firefighters from neighbouring areas are helping to tackle the blaze.
The roads into the village have been sealed off by emergency services to make way for fire engines..
