Authorities in the Netherlands believe that the four ancient Romanian gold artifacts stolen from the Drents Museum in January are still in one piece and haven't been melted down. During a recent court hearing, prosecutors shared their belief that the Dacian-era treasures — including three gold bracelets and the Helmet of Cotofenesti — are hidden somewhere and may be intended for later sale.

The first public court session against two of the main suspects, Bernhard Z. (35) and Douglas Chesley W.
(36), both from Heerhugowaard, took place on Friday. A third suspect, Jan B. (20), also from Heerhugowaard, has claimed that Douglas Chesley W.
was the mastermind behind the theft at the museum in Assen. The court ordered that both Z. and W.
remain in pre-trial detention for at least another 90 days.
