The ongoing stretch of hot weather across the Netherlands is set to reach its highest point today, with temperatures expected to hit 33 degrees Celsius in the southeastern parts of the country. Authorities have flagged the possibility of muggy, uncomfortable conditions throughout the day. Relief, however, is already on the way — a noticeable drop in temperatures is forecast to begin as early as tonight.

Peak Heat Today, Cooler Air Moving In
Tuesday brings wall-to-wall sunshine with no rain in sight. Inland areas will warm up to around 30 degrees, while the southeast could touch 33 degrees by afternoon. The north will get some respite later in the day as a moderate sea breeze kicks in, though other parts of the country will see very little wind movement.
Overnight, a slight chance of a light shower exists in the western regions, but most of the country should stay dry. Temperatures will ease down to roughly 15 degrees in the south and around 11 degrees in the northeast, accompanied by a moderate to strong northeasterly wind.
A Cooler, Calmer Week Ahead
Wednesday brings a shift.
Expect a mix of sun and cloud, with the afternoon leaning sunnier. No rain is forecast, and the mercury will stay significantly lower — around 18 degrees in the north and up to 25 degrees in the south. Coastal areas and the IJsselmeer should brace for stronger winds.
Thursday holds steady at around 25 degrees, and Friday could see temperatures nudging close to 30 degrees again. The weekend introduces a slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm, with conditions turning a touch cooler overall..
