A Town Left Uneasy
The incidents unfolded along routes that locals use every day. Women cycling on Hoge Kade and Sophialaan in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, and on Ringdijk in Zwijndrecht, were caught off guard when a teenager on a fatbike would suddenly pull up beside them. What happened next left each of them shaken.

Seven women came forward first. Then came two more reports — both filed on June 22 and 23, both in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. Nine women in total, all describing the same thing, all pointing to the same suspect.



Police Say There Could Be More Victims
After piecing together the accounts, investigators felt confident they were dealing with one person behind all nine attacks. The boy's description matched consistently across every report, and that gave police enough to make the arrest. But they are not treating this as a closed chapter just yet.

There may be women out there who were assaulted but never came forward — perhaps out of embarrassment, shock, or simply not knowing others had experienced the same thing. Police are asking them directly: please get in touch. Anyone who witnessed something on these routes, or who has camera footage from the area, is also being urged to contact authorities and help build the full picture.
