Majority of Remains Were Young Women
Among the identified remains, the youngest belonged to a 13-year-old girl, with six other girls under 18 and dozens more between 18 and 30 years old. Eight of those were between 18 and 20. Most deaths occurred between 1881 and 1980, with tuberculosis and childbirth complications suspected as common causes, though these conditions leave no visible traces on bone.
