This is the first time in 2008 that six Dutch clubs will compete in European tournaments this season, after securing victories on Thursday night (Aug 31) as AZ Alkmaar and FC Utrecht confirmed their respective places. AZ earned progression in the next round after easily dispatching Levski Sofia 4-0 at home and conquering 2-0 away in the Conference League.

Utrecht made sure to progress to the Europa League after their 0-0 draw with Zrinjski Mostar at home but built on the collective aggregate from their 2-0 win.
In the Champions League
PSV Eindhoven and Ajax will represent the Netherlands in the Champions League and will both face difficult groups. PSV will play Bayern München at home and will also play away at Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen.
Ajax will play Inter and Benfica, and Galatasaray at home and Chelsea away. Both clubs will play a total of eight matches in the first group stage.
Full Dutch cause entered
Feyenoord and Go Ahead Eagles will enter the Europa League along with Utrecht.
The Go Ahead Eagles have not been in Europe in a long time, they earned qualification from winning the KNVB Cup last season.
The draw for the Europa and Conference Leagues will take place later on Friday to determine the fixtures for their Dutch representatives.
