Veldkamp Calls for EU Investigation into Israel's Gaza Blockade
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Veldkamp, has called for a European investigation into Israel's ongoing blockade of Gaza, arguing that it violates international treaties on human rights and democratic principles. According to Veldkamp, these principles were established in agreements between Israel and the European Union, which he believes Israel is no longer respecting.

Blockade Against International Law
In a statement to NOS, Veldkamp expressed concern over the Israeli blockade, describing it as contrary to international humanitarian law.
He acknowledged Israel's right to self-defense but argued that the current scale of action goes beyond what is justifiable. "This is really a line in the sand," said Veldkamp, emphasizing the need for a clear political signal to Israel. He also pointed to the Israeli government's recent decision to expand operations in Gaza and plans to reoccupy or even destroy the Gaza Strip.
