Case Details
The suspect was arrested at an asylum seekers' centre managed by the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA). The suspect is charged with murdering Lisa, raping an individual in Amsterdam, and attempting sexual assault on August 10. He claims to be from Nigeria, but the Public Prosecution Service said in early September that his exact country is not fully verified yet.
Court Hearing and the Public's Response
The preparatory hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m., but the case will not yet be discussed. When the trial will begin is not known, and no further details about the hearing have been released. Lisa was murdered in a manner which included much unrest in the country and led to the campaign, called "We Claim the Night," which supports the work of female security and safety. The campaign raised 509,379 euros, and Amsterdam made a commitment of 6 million euros to support initiatives aimed at improving safety for women.
