Long Time Working in Home Renovation Television
Zwinkels was central to Eigen Huis en Tuin from 1990 to 2004. Although he took care of all kinds of odd jobs and carpentry projects, the gardening section was Rob Verlinden. Several hosts presented the show in the years, among them Manuëla Kemp, Myrna Goossen, and Irene Moors. Zwinkels had a reputation for his craftsmanship and passion, which endeared him to many beholders and made him a lovable figure on the show.

Controversy and Life Abroad
In 2004, both Zwinkels and Verlinden tried to move to another television station, but this transfer failed. Zwinkels came under scrutiny at the time amid allegations of sexual harassment from a number of women. He had always denied the allegations and had taken legal action to clear his name. After the scandal, he moved to Spain with his wife and settled there for fifteen years. Zwinkels moved back to the Netherlands in 2019.

His family said that he died yesterday at his home in Naaldwijk.
