Freek Postma Killed In Home By Gunfire
Postma, from Herbaijum in Friesland, was discovered dead in a garden on Baansingel in November 2023. Police said he had been visiting an acquaintance who lived next door shortly visiting before his death. At around 5:15 p.m., the police received a call of a disturbance inside the home and then heard gunshots from local residents.

One of the men broke into her home while Postma was inside, according to investigators. He was shot point-blank as he tried to escape. The perpetrators left the scene in a car that drove north, possibly in the direction of Friesland. Police are also investigating whether two men on a scooter seen in the area could be connected to the killing.

Motive Suspected is Drug Conflict
The murder is believed to be connected to drug dealing, authorities said. Investigators say Postma was known to be dealing in drugs in Leeuwarden and Alkmaar and that he was "clearly targeted" in a criminal conflict.

A 58-year-old Alkmaar man was arrested not long after the shooting, but he was released when it turned out that he had no connection to the crime.

Now, police are asking for the community's help to identify the six individuals. Security footage was shown on national television in the inquiry.
