Suspect Shot by Police in The Hague After Threat Report; Six Arrested

Several police units were mobilised to respond to the distress call. When they got there, they came into contact with a few suspects. One shot was fired in the confrontation, striking one of the suspects, who was transported to a hospital by ambulance, officials said. Police have not yet said what kind of threat was made.

Gunfire in a Tense Neighborhood: Witnesses React
Confusion and fear flooded the area as residents in the perimeter began to respond to the gunfire. Aad, who lives on Paviljoensgracht, was inside when he heard the shooting: "I heard four shots. Many people ventured outside to see. That's the last thing you should do when you hear shots." Police would later clarify that only one shot was fired.
Another neighbor said that he was having dinner when he heard the commotion. "I didn't hear anybody scream, but people were running out outside," he said, smoking a cigarette.

An resident of nearby street Stille Veerkade said she returned home minutes after the shooting. "Stuff like this happens all the time on this block. "It' kind of normal," she said, but ongoing events in the area have made her not feel as safe.

Assaults Probed; Any Motive a Mystery
After the incident Paviljoensgracht and Stille Veerkade were sealed off by the police. The six suspects arrested have not yet been named, and the reason for the threat remains unclear. The case is still under investigation, and more information will be released as the Rijksrecherche completes its review, police said.
