India: Red and Yellow Advisories
For India, the Dutch government has issued a red advisory for high-risk areas, including Jammu and Kashmir, Aksai Chin, Manipur, and regions along the Pakistan border. These areas are marked as dangerous due to ongoing military conflicts. The Ministry strongly advises Dutch travellers to avoid these locations for safety reasons.
Other regions of India, including Mizoram, Nagaland, and Chhattisgarh, are under a yellow advisory, signalling moderate risks. While these areas are not immediately dangerous, travellers are urged to stay alert, especially near borders with Myanmar, Bangladesh, and China.
Pakistan: High-Risk Areas and Military Tensions
In Pakistan, red advisories cover several high-risk zones, including the western parts of the country, the Pakistan-India border, and sections along the Pakistan-China border. These regions, particularly the Line of Control and the Jammu and Kashmir area on Pakistan's side, are highly affected by military tensions and should be avoided by travellers.
The Dutch Ministry has issued an orange advisory for the rest of Pakistan, including Islamabad. This advisory recommends avoiding non-essential travel in these areas, although the risk is lower than in the red-designated zones.
Ongoing Security Concerns
The Ministry has cited recent military attacks in Punjab and along the Pakistan-India border as contributing to the heightened risk in the region. The Dutch government continues to monitor the situation and advises its citizens to stay informed and exercise caution while travelling.
