oday, his books have sold over 10 million copies and have been translated into 70 languages. He is a sought-after speaker, giving some 120 lectures a year, including a recent event at the Tuschinski Theater in Amsterdam.

From rejections to bestsellers
Erikson took a big risk in 2014 when he self-published Surrounded by Idiots and insisted on printing 10,000 copies, three times more than experts had predicted. The bold move led to a successful book series that now includes seven titles. He claims to be the most translated Swedish author of the moment.

Before this success, Erikson wrote for 20 years without being published. He initially started as a thriller writer and published a few fiction books in 2011 and 2012. He recently returned to fiction with a new novel titled "Millionaire" ("Millionaire"), which he describes as a personal and fun project. Asking Questions and Avoiding Distractions

Speaking on the Dam Yankee podcast, Erikson explained that his books are meant to help readers ask better questions about themselves and their lives. He believes that asking open-ended questions can significantly improve one’s relationships, decisions, and overall well-being.

Erikson also raised concerns about society’s growing reliance on phones and screens. He noted that homes have become quieter, not because people are quieter, but because family members are glued to their devices. He said this constant search for quick dopamine hits—like checking phones or playing games—prevents real interaction.

He urges people to slow down and become more aware of their surroundings and choices, warning that this digital overload is affecting communication, family life and mental focus.
