Schiphol suggested booking a security time slot in advance and checking the exact opening time of the check-in desk. People are also advised to keep their passports and boarding passes ready and sign up for flight updates on WhatsApp.
Travelers Advised to Plan Early
Schiphol warned passengers to leave for the airport on time because roadworks on the A4 motorway are causing major traffic problems. The airport also recommended using a route planner and preparing for longer travel times or diversions. Travelers were also encouraged to take public transport when possible.
However, public transport users should be aware of railworks. There are fewer trains running between Amsterdam Zuid and Schiphol Airport stations until the end of the month, which may cause further delays.
Higher Passenger Numbers This Year
Schiphol expects about 7 percent more passengers compared to last year. On average, around 200,000 passengers, including arrivals, departures, and transfers, will pass through the airport daily during this period.
