Opening Timeline and Locations
The first three centers opened in November last year in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Maastricht. The next center will begin operations on June 1 at the Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum (LUMC). Following that, the UMC Groningen (UMCG) will open its center on July 1. RadboudUMC in Nijmegen is scheduled to launch its facility on September 1, and UMC Utrecht will follow shortly after.
Improving Care and Expanding Knowledge
The Nederlandse Federatie van Universitair Medische Centra (NFU), which represents the country's seven university medical centers, announced the new developments and highlighted the benefits for patient care and research. These temporary centers are funded until the end of 2026. They aim not only to treat patients but also to gather insights into which treatment options work best for different types of Long Covid cases.
