Dutch Beer Week 2025 to Celebrate Craftsmanship and Creativity Nationwide

The 12th edition of the Dutch Beer Week (Week van het Nederlandse Bier) is set to take place across the Netherlands from Wednesday, May 14 to Sunday, May 18, 2025. This year's spotlight will be on the brewers themselves, recognizing their dedication, creativity, and pride in creating unique beers. From brews infused with orange peels to innovative alcohol-free versions that closely replicate the taste of traditional beer, the week will showcase the full spectrum of Dutch brewing talent.

Organizers, Activities, and Highlights

Organized by Nederlandse Brouwers, the event is supported by CRAFT — the trade association for independent Dutch brewers — and, for the first time, by Koninklijke Horeca Nederland, the hospitality industry association. A range of public events will be held, including tastings, brewery tours, open house days, and educational sessions across the country.

Key events include the Gulpener Brouwersdiner on May 14 and 15, offering curated beer and food pairings. On May 17, a "social run" in Rotterdam-Crooswijk will be followed by a Tap Takeover. Also that day, Stadsbrouwerij Wageningen will present its locally sourced grain brewing methods alongside five Dutch farmers. On May 18, a walking tour in Leiden will guide participants to various beer-themed locations in the city centre.

Participating Breweries and Festivals

Twenty-two breweries will open their doors to the public, including Bavaria in Lieshout, Brouwerij Noordt in Rotterdam, Amelander Bierbrouwerij, and Mommeriete Bierbrouwerij. Throughout the week, seven beer festivals will take place, such as the Noord-Hollands Bierfestival in Hoorn, the vandeStreek Bierfest in Utrecht, and the Nederlands Bierproeffestival in The Hague on May 16 and 17. The latter will feature more than 250 beers from over 35 Dutch breweries, including 24 beers that recently won awards at the Dutch Beer Challenge 2025.

Organizers highlighted the economic and cultural importance of the beer industry, noting its contribution to thousands of jobs and its vital role both regionally and nationally. They emphasized the value of Dutch beer culture and expressed excitement in promoting the craftsmanship and innovation of Dutch brewers through various events and a comprehensive online campaign.
