Utrecht Police Probe Flyers Openly Advertising Drugs

Residents in parts of Utrecht found an unwelcome surprise in their postboxes recently: flyers selling illegal drugs. The Utrecht West police have confirmed they received a large number of reports about the leaflets, which carry the words "Let's party" beside a drawing of assorted pills. Officers are now looking into where they came from.

What the Flyers Promise
According to the flyer, customers can place an order by scanning the QR code or calling the phone number printed on it. It also claims the drugs arrive fast, at any hour of the day or night. Buyers can pay in cash or by sending a payment request, the text says.

The flyers turned up in several neighborhoods, including Nieuw Engeland, Oog in Al, Lombok, Schepenbuurt, and Welgelegen. It is not clear whether every home in those areas got one. Police shared the news on Instagram and asked people to stop sending in further reports. They said they already know about the situation and are investigating, so there is no need for more calls or messages.

Not the First Time
This kind of advertising has surfaced in the city before. Back in 2024, similar flyers landed in mailboxes in other parts of Utrecht, among them Uithof, Lunetten, and Hoograven. Those leaflets came with a price list: ecstasy pills for 20 euros, a gram of ketamine for 25 euros, and a gram of cocaine for 50 euros.

At the time, a police spokesperson had a simple message for residents. Do not respond to the offer, and get rid of the flyer by putting it in the trash as soon as possible.
