Emergency Services and Road Closure
Multiple emergency service units and a trauma chopper responded to the scene of the collision with a pedestrian. The firefighters from Woensel set up a privacy tent around the victim. Unfortunately, the pedestrian could not be saved despite all possible medical treatment and a rapid reaction time. The A50 was closed to traffic in the direction of Eindhoven to Oss after the accident, from 8:30 a.m. Sunday between Ekkersweijer and Sint Oedenrode, to allow for the diversion of traffic from Nijmegen, through Den Bosch, using A2 and A59.

The driver of the car involved in the accident was tested and found to be free of any alcohol or drugs. The car was removed from the scene as is standard procedure. The investigation is ongoing, and police are attempting to determine what happened and how the pedestrian came onto the road. Photographs are being taken via drone from above, along with other documentation of the area for detectives to review later. Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the accident or have information pertinent to the accident to contact them. Investigators are still working to figure out how the pedestrian was on A50 at the time of the accident.
