Royal Family Heads to Dokkum for Official Celebrations
King Willem-Alexander and his family have chosen Dokkum as the location for this year's official King's Day celebration. The Frisian city will be slightly cooler than the rest of the country, with temperatures expected to peak at around 12 degrees. Despite the modest chill, the event is set to draw large crowds eager to mark the occasion alongside the royal family.
What to Expect Across the Country
A light to moderate northeasterly wind will be a feature of the day, keeping things fresher in the northern provinces. Temperatures in the north are expected to reach between 12 and 14 degrees, while central and southern parts of the country will enjoy noticeably warmer conditions, climbing to between 16 and 18 degrees. The warmest spots will be in Limburg and Noord-Brabant, where readings could locally touch 19 degrees.
Once the celebrations wind down and evening sets in, cloud cover will thicken across the country. Some light rain is expected in the northwest overnight, and temperatures will cool to an average of around 7 degrees by morning.
